Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the border from next door Thailand, in which casino gaming is not permitted. Eight casinos are situated in a generally tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect location, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal income gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; although, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 1700, and even though visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods around this, as is correct of most borders.
The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge casino, features 150 one armed bandits and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of 150 slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that contains a number of comforts accompanying the gambling hall, which has 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and 88 gaming tables.
